IPS conducts faculty development programme

School of Computers and Electronics, IPS Academy has hosted a workshop on Basic electronics that will span over a period of two weeks from 28th June to 8th July, 2011. The workshop was inaugurated by Honorable Ar. Achal Choudhary, President, IPS Academy, Indore, in the presence of Dr. P.K. Bhat (Director, SOCE), Prof Leeladhar Chourasiya (HOD, SOCE) and Mr. Ravi Saxena (Registrar, IPS Academy) on 28th June 2011.

The workshop will be remotely conducted by experts from IIT, Mumbai. The experts include Prof. Phatak, Prof. D.K Sharma, Prof. M.B Patil, Prof. Kavi Arya and Prof. C. Solanki of IIT, Mumbai. School of Computers and Electronics, IPS Academy is a remote center selected for a series of such workshops by IIT, Mumbai under the Eklavya programme for faculty development. All mentoring will be done online and the practical exercises will form the major thrust area of this workshop. Prof. Naziya Hussain of School of Computers and Electronics is coordinating all the activities of this workshop under the guidance of Prof. Leeladhar Chourasiya.

The major topics that would be dealt with in this workshop include operational amplifiers, semiconductors, transistors, combinational circuits, multistage amplifiers, TTL and CMOS circuits, Verilog/ VHDL and power amplifiers.

The participants are finding the workshop very intriguing; coupled with challenging practical exercise that will make their classroom and laboratory teaching more effective.
