DTE deny CMAT Score

This year, appearing in Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) might not be a wise idea for students planning to pursue Master of Business Administration (MBA) from State’s Colleges. For, the directorate of technical education, Madhya Pradesh, has clarified that the state’s colleges will not accept CMAT score this year. CMAT is scheduled on February 12 this year.

The DTE declared that state management colleges will accept the score of the state level management entrance test- the management entrance Test (MET) — for admission in MBA.

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), has given an option to universities to accept the CMAT score. In Madhya Pradesh, it will not be accepted for MBA for session 2012-13,” DTE deputy director of admission Dr Laxminarayan Reddy said.

“For the post graduate diploma in management (PGDM), we have left it to the colleges to accept the CMAT score- if they want they can. Or else, MET scores will surely be accepted for all management courses this year,” he added. While CMAT is an option to colleges for enrolling MBA students for the session 2012-13, it will be made compulsory to all AICTE affiliated colleges for enrolling students in the batch of 2013-14. CMAT will be the only test that students will have to apply to seek admission in any AICTE affiliated college in 2013.
