Need Six months Bridge Course for Ph.D Students

In last three years nearly 500 candidates admitted to PhD programme in Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya ( DAVV)  would have to undergo six- month course work to avail the benefits associated with the doctoral research degree and if the students skip the course work, their degrees would become ‘worthless’.

The Department of Higher Education said all candidates enrolled in the research degree programmes under old ordinance even after the release of UGC new guidelines for PhD in 2009 would have to undergo the course work of minimum one semester, which is six months.

‘Doctoral research degrees of all those students who avoid the course work will become showpiece which they can display in their drawing rooms for public view.
