Mobile Computing Based Workshop

A day long workshop on mobile computing was organised by University Grants Commission (UGC) at the Schoolof Computer Science, DAVV on Monday.
Dr H M Gupta, a professor in the IIT, Delhi, was the chief speaker. He explained levels of security and privacy. The participants were told about this emergent technology as a potential job provider.
Gupta said that mobile voice communication is widely established throughout the world and had a very rapid increase in number of subscribers to the various cellular networks over the last few years. An extension of this technology is the ability to send and receive data across the cellular networks. This is the principle of mobile computing. Mobile data communication has become important and rapidly evolving technology as it allows users to transmit data from remote locations to remote locations. This proves to be solution to biggest problem of business people on the move – mobility, he added.
E-Morphis Technology Software Solutions, Indore director Nilesh Maheshwari said that mobile telephony took off with the introduction of cellular technology which allowed the efficient utilization of frequencies, enabling connection of a large number of users.
During the 1980s analogue technology was used. Mobile computing has three aspects: mobile communication, mobile hardware, and mobile software
