Demand for college band by NSUI on Saturday

INDORE: In a bid to woo students ahead of the students’ union election, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) has called for a district-wide college bandh on Saturday. The outfit has called for the band seeking action against the “rising nuisance” of another students’ organization, Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
District president of NSUI Siddharth Yadav, said, “The ABVP activists have turned the college campuses into a place to create nuisance and the college authorities are negligent towards taking action against such miscreants.”
ABVP activists were allegedly involved in an affray at Renaissance College recently. One of the activists had stabbed his rival. A case was registered at Vijay Nagar police station and the college authorities have suspended the students involved in the crime.
The dates of the polls are yet to be announced.
