India launches e-court fee payment system

India’s Delhi High Court has just introduced an electronic court fee system that will allow litigants to buy stamp papers–used to file court cases–online instead of having to physically stand in queue to do so.The new feature is part of the wider existing e-court system in India’s judiciary.
“This is a historic step which will bring transparency in the administration of justice. The government would extend its support to make a modern judicial system,” Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit said.
