CBSE’s novel reading helps students to improve language

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)’s initiative of introducing novels in senior classes seems to have yielded fruits as city schools feel a marked improvement in the language of students through reading novels.
The board has included novels in the curriculum of classes 9th and 11th. The first summative assessment is over in schools. CBSE has asked teachers and students to give a feedback on this initiative as the first assessment is over in schools.
Subject teachers feel that novel reading in classroom coupled with discussions has helped in both the ideological and literary development of students.
