Rajasthan: Community radio service to cover 60 villages

Jaipur: The community radio service by the Central University (CU) of Rajasthan will cater 60 villages in its first phase.
The CU will deal with an wide array of subjects impart skill-based training for employment generation and to stop migration. For this, the programme will feature multi-layered shows on health, education, women issues, skill based trainings, animal husbandry, banking, child health, government policies, rainwater harvesting system and promoting local artisans. These shows have been created after consulting experts and students on the basis of feedbacks given by village sarpanchs, gram panchayats and other villagers. In order to associate villagers with the social issues, the community radio programmes will feature villagers in most of the shows. Twelve members from different villages have been given special training according to their expertise and knowledge.
A 20-member committee has been constituted to cater to villages in a radius of 15 km from the CU.
