India to Develop New Nuclear Missile – Agni VI

India is all geared up to carve its own niche in the nuclear weapon segment. After successfully firing off the underwater missile just last month, India has now announced the development of a new nuclear warhead – Agni VI.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will commence the development of Agni VI missile which comes with multiple war-heads and can reach a range of up to 6000 km. The Agni V which was test-fired last April has a marginally lower range of 5000 km. Also, this will be DRDO’s first strategic missile to carry multiple war-heads as all previous missiles from Agni series and under-water missiles are capable of a single war-head. The Agni VI will be 20 metres in length and will weigh 65-70-tonne.
