MBA grads likely to lose jobs

In these days of economic slowdown when securing a job has become a hard task, nearly 1,000 MBA students are on the dead line of losing jobs offered to them, courtesy Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya ( DAVV) that first delayed their exams and now results.

A group of aggrieved students met the university officers on Tuesday and pleaded them to give a tentative date for results so that they may inform the same to their recruiters and seek extension of joining dates but to no avail.’The varsity officers failed to give any date for our results.

He said that the two- year MBA course was to be completed by September 2011 as per academic calendar.

‘But, since our course was running three to four months behind the schedule at the time of campus placement in May and June last year, we had informed our recruiting companies that the course would be completed by December.’Following our requests, the companies gave us joining dates for January and February months. But the university stretched our course to six months.

Other students too said they were under pressure of reporting to duty with required documents. If we did not furnish marksheet in a few days, most of us will lose jobs,’they said putting the number of students facing a threat of missing ’employment bus’at 1000.
