Non-teaching staff of state universities end strike

The non-teaching staff members of state universities concluded their strike and resumed work on Thursday.
Over 800 employees including daily wagers who were on strike in the Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya (DAVV) campus for the last ten days called off their strike on assurances of the state government that their demands would be met before the next financial year.
The state government has assured the employees that their three main demands including pension and gratuity as per sixth pay commission, increasing medical incentive and regularisation of daily wagers will be addressed before March 2013.
