No JEE for MP students; DET to conduct PET in April

The Directorate of Technical Education has finalized the rules for Pre-Engineering Test for admission into various engineering colleges in the state. The new set of rules has been handed over to the MP Professional Examination Board (PEB) on Thursday. The test would be conducted on April 21 while the registration of application forms would commence in February. Over one lac students try their luck every year for 96000 seats in various colleges including private ones.

Director and controller of exams of PEB, Pankaj Trivedi has confirmed the news by saying “We have received the PET rules and the test would be most likely conducted on April 21. The online application process would commence in February.

This comes against earlier statement made by the state higher and technical education minister Laxmikant Sharma who had said about two weeks ago that Madhya Pradesh Government had decided to join the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE), the national-level entrance test being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
